Inspiration (Dedication + Discipline) = Success

Fitness is not a diet or trip to a gym class. Fitness is a life style, beyond the gym. This life style takes discipline and dedication. Those two power pushers require fuel to get you to a better you, that fuel is inspiration. Inspiration is all around you and could be many different people, places or objects.

For me it’s many different people that helped me pave the way… A manager I had who encouraged me to run a half marathon, a spin instructor at 24HR fitness, friends and their journeys, my dr., The girls from Saturday Morning Boot Camp!!.... But there is two that play such a huge role… My children and my husband.

I began my relationship with my husband with a touch of his bicep and I was instantly in love. Seriously, the very first time we ever met I asked him if I could touch his biceps… Who does this!? !? If you saw his arms you would want to too, he is a world champion power lifter. His dedication to his fitness goals inspired me to challenge myself more. When I watch him attack his goals he sees no limits to his abilities. Instead of asking “How much do I weigh?” he changed me to think “How fit can I get?” I see road blocks as challenges and my attitude is “Bring It!”

My children… “My Girls…” When I made the choice to be a mother I made the choice to be the best mother I can be, I am not perfect and I have grown a lot over the years. As a mom your role is so crucial and should lead by example. It is very difficult as a mother of girls to say anything to do with weight, as a woman you know the skinniest girl could have insecurities and add the age in… eewwweee not a position to be in. This inspired me to be in the best shape  I could be to set an example. As I pushed through my own journey they saw my dedication and discipline and they slowly started to make changes on their own. At the time they had no idea they were fueling my Dedication and Discipline.

What is your inspiration?
